The movie that I have seen recently is GANGS OF NEW YORK. It was made in 2001, and the main characters are Leonard Dicaprio, Cameron Diaz. The movie's story is about New York in 1846. This movie is a kind of historical drama.
In 1846 New York, there are a lot of Irish people live as emigrant laborers in a slum named five points. Then native American people hate the Irish people. There is an antagonism between both of them. One day, a leader of Irish group who is a father of Amesterdam (acted by Dicaprio) is killed by a leader of native's, and Amesterdam has to be imprisoned. Amesterdam come back to five points 15 years later. He want to take vengeance on the leader...
This movie tells us one of the American historical realities. The plot follows the original history, and the directing is great. Especially, the screen set is amazing. On the other hand, there are many violent scenes that I couldn't see. Those should be less. Overall, the movie is a success to know the history. I can recommend it. Before you see this movie, you should check American history in the 19th century little.
